Mr & Mrs Brown "Trewinnard Hall is a Victorian house that was last converted into seven flats in 2004. Located in Didsbury, the building is surrounded by gardens and protected by mature trees. We have lived in one of the flats since spring 2006, and I became one of the three directors of the Residents Management Company in summer 2008. Paul Reid took over the role as the managing agent of the development in April 2009. Before starting, Paul prepared three itemised budgets at the different levels of the service charge. he rapidly identified areas which had been previously neglected and accommodated them into the budget after optimising the core services. He also made provisions for building up a sinking fund in preparation for maintenance and repair work that will be required in the medium term. Within the first month of managing our properties, he appointed new reliable good quality contractors for regular cleaning and upkeeping of the property. He also rapidly updated our accounts and organised for the shareholders an Annual General Meeting in order to discuss and agree the way forward. And not only is his response time very prompt, but also his advice is generally sound and very helpful. We are very hopeful that Trewinnard Hall will catch up with pending maintenance and repair work and thereafter will be well taken care of. We therefore can unreservedly recommend Paul Reid as managing agent. Director, Residents Management Company The development at Opus, Morecombe, have been managed by Acaria Management & Consultancy Ltd since February 1st 2010. Opus is a mixed use development of 41 apartments and 2 commercial units. We have always found Paul Reid to be approachable, knowledgeable and eager to remedy any concerns which have been raised. Services such as cleaning, window cleaning and gardening have been carried out regularly and any repairs have been attended to within an acceptable timescale. Paul has been contactable out of hours and on weekends and has been happy to call during his monthly inspections to explain who the management of the development is progressing. Larmour "I have known Paul since he took over the management of Trewinnard House, at the time I was renting my flat which I subsequently purchased. There was an issue with the freehold on the property at the time and throughout this Paul was very helpful and supportive and liaised with my solicitor and the other owners so that we could jointly purchase the freehold from the developer. Acaria has now managed the property for 2 1/2 years and in this time I have had no cause for complaint - in fact things have improved dramatically! We now have cleaners who clean and a gardener who gardens and should I ever have any cause to call in an emergency (gates stuck, leak from upstairs) Paul has responded quickly and workmen have been on the premises as soon as possible - sometimes within an hour! Like most management companies we do not have unlimited funds and we have the added complication of a very old building - but Acaria manage the budget and prioritise the works needed to make sure that the house is in a state of good repair and that any urgent work is undertaken. Paul also makes sure that we comply with any legal requirements and that all the documentation is in order. I would not hesitate to recommend Acaria." A.
